metal substrates, which offers good rust protection for the substrate and assures strong adhesion of the paint film.
Product Benefits:
Asian Paints Decoprime Premium Metal Primer is based on synthetic resins and contains corrosion inhibiting pigments. It offers good corrosion resistance and hence serves as a good quality metal primer. It can be easily applied by brush or spray and dries hard to form a good adherent coating and is economical in use.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: –
1. PRE-PAINTING STEPS FOR SURFACE PREPARATION – Sand the surface thoroughly with emery paper 180 and wipe clean.
2. APPLICATION PROCESS – THE APPLICATION PROCESS INVOLVES 6-STEPS: –
Step 1 – Sanding – Sand the surface with emery paper 180 ans wipe clean.
Step 2 – This step involves application of 1st-coat of Decoprime Premium Metal Primer. It can be diluted with MTO up to 5% – 10% for application using Brush/Roller. Recoating period is 8 hours.
Step 3 – Sanding – Sand the surface lightly with sand paper 180 and wipe clean.
Step 4 (Optional) – Smoothen the surface by filling dents with thin coats of Asian Paints Knifing Paste Filler. Allow it to dry for 4 – 6 hours. Sand lightly with emery paper 180 and wipe clean.
Step 5 – This step involves application of 2nd-coat of Decoprime Premium Metal Primer. It can be diluted with MTO up to 5% – 10% for application using Brush/Roller. Recoating period is 8 hours.
Step 6 – Sanding – Sand the surface lightly with emery paper 320 before application of top coats.
