Description

Red Oxide Primer is an oil modified, alkyd based primer suitably pigmented with micro-fine red-oxide and extenders. It is suitable for mild steel and ferrous surface. It is free from heavy metals.

Ensure that the surface is free from dust, dirt, loose particles and moisture.One or two coats of primer can be used, depending on requirement. For best results, it is advisable to give 8-10 hours drying time before application of subsequent coats. Do not over-thin. Stir well before use.

Surface Preparation & Painting Procedure: Remove grease, oil & other contaminants preferably by using Bison Degreasing Solvent. Blast clean to a minimum surface profile not exceeding 35-40 microns.

If blasting is not practical, make full use of mechanical tools along with manual chipping and wire brushing to remove loose rust. Excessive burnishing of steel is to be avoided.
